Paulie is a rescue from a shelter in Illinois. His sister, Shia was lonely and needed a companion after her other pup companion passed away. Paulie’s mom and dad went to PetCo and met him. Shia and Paulie hit it off in the store and the rest was a rescue love story. Paulie joined their family that very day. Originally named Thomas James, his mom found Paulie shortly after she lost her dad, who’s name was John Thomas and went by Thomas. She knew their meeting was fate.

Despite the fated meeting and name, his family did change his name. Paulie is named after former Chicago White Sox first baseman, Paul Konerko. The White Sox are his dad's all time favorite team. And, if you look closely, you can see that Paulie is black with a white stripe on his chest, reminiscent of the White Sox colors. 

He is a bit skittish and always has been. He jumps at quick movements and sounds. BUT Paulie is a canine vacuum and will eat everything and anything. He loves the snow and can spend hours romping through it whenever the Chicagoland area gets some fresh powder. The way to his heart is through his belly, he's always finding ways for extra snacks and treats. He is a very smart boy. And a Very Good Dog!
