Meet Duke! The Pup Behind Very Good Dog
Duke is the goldendoodle and inspiration behind Very Good Dog. He came to his family during the thick of COVID. His human companions will often tell people, “he’s a covid puppy.” This means that he didn’t get exposure to very many people or dogs until he was around 8 months old.
After working with him and incorporating training as the world opened back up, Duke is now thriving in a very dog friendly town in Colorado. After putting in the hard pup work, he’s now learned the world has more people than his four humans and so many dog friends! And he loves to meet new humans and canines alike!
Duke’s family decided to adopt a doodle because one of his tiny humans has rotten allergies and asthma. Cats seem to trigger them more than dogs, but his family wanted to be safer rather than sorry when choosing a pup. Being a goldendoodle, Duke doesn’t shed and is considered hypo-allergenic. His tiny human hasn’t had even one allergic reaction or asthma attack. Duke has been a part of the family for almost a year.
When his mom saw photos of his litter, she loved him best because he was the only puppy sniffing the fake flowers during his photoshoot. She liked his curiosity. A trait that still runs strong in him. You can find him spending his days exploring the mountain and all the fun scents there for him to sniff! He loves snuggles with his humans, elk jerky, fetch, neck scratchies, tug of war, and of course, gobbling up the treats his mom bakes.
