I'm a mom to hooman children and fur children. I can tell you one thing, whether you're keeping a human child fed and productive and happy or keeping your doggo child fed and productive and happy, you.are.mothering. We give ourselves to the creatures we keep alive day in and day out. We make sacrifices, big and small, in a variety of ways. Sometimes days are easy and then there are the tough days but our unconditional love is the glue that keeps it all together.
Moms of all kinds deserve more than just one day to celebrate them, but alas, society only gives us a small bone, not a pile. In the spirit and honor of celebrating the dog moms in your life, here is a very good gift list from me, founder of Very Good Dog and a mom to four boys day in and day out!
1. Telluride Humane Society Swag: If you check out different shelters and humane societies, they sometimes have swag that helps them raise the desperately needed funds to continue to save animals far and wide. 2. I'd Rather Be With My Dog: If you're on IG you may have come across them and their fun t-shirts and accessories. They are often creating items for different causes to help dogs worldwide. From Ukraine to our biggest wildfire in Colorado history, The Marshall Fire. I purchased one of their hoodies that gave back to the Boulder community affected by the devastating fire. They have cute stuff and it often helps us give back. Which is a bonus! They donate to different causes every single week. Frankly, I snuggle my dogs daily so I need seven of these below. 3. My Pet Poncho: I think nothing excites a dog mama more than gifts with her own doggo's face all over it. Or maybe that is just me. I was gifted this poncho for Christmas and I'm not sure who squealed louder during gift opening time, the kids or me. This is cozy and so warm. Fun fact, there is a pouch pocket inside the poncho. 5. Wild Crow Farm Pottery: I love creative handmade items. Perhaps, that's why I started a handmade dog treat bakery, I digress. This canister is pawfect for the dog mom in your life. I find it hilarious and whimsical and I happened to treat (haha) myself to one. It now sits on my counter for the treats I set aside for my canine taste testers.
